Brotherhood Information

Brotherhood at Temple Beth Torah was officially formed on May 10, 1969. It is an organization of Jewish men involved in many social, charitable, and religious activities. Brotherhood, which has also been known as the Men's Club, is open to all interested Jewish men. You do not have to be a member of Temple Beth Torah to join.

In the recent years, the Brotherhood has supported many worthwhile projects, both inside and outside the Temple. We sponsor a Scholarship for TBT High School Students to participate in any of the NFTY Israel programs.  One of our focus outside charities has been the Wyandanch Project's Annual excursion to a ball game. On the social scene, Brotherhood's Annual Bowling Night is a big draw.  Outingts to the NY Islanders, and Dave & Buster's night, have regularly been huge successes. Brotherhood also co-sponsors many other Temple functions.

TBT is currently the only temple on Long Island with an active enough Brotherhood to sponsor two softball teams in the age 30 and over Nassau/Suffolk Temple league.  The teams begin practice indoors in March and the season runs Sunday mornings from Spring through August.

TBT Brotherhood is a wonderful organization that is growing with quality members every day. Please feel free to get involved and we appreciate any new ideas offered by our members.

For further information, please contact the Brotherhood President Jeff Silverman.
