Temple Beth Torah Youth Group was designed to enhance the experience of Temple Beth Torah’s Youth. TEMBTY is comprised of five separate youth groups for 3rd, 4th, 5th and Club TEMBTY 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and Mission: Mission (Senior Youth Group part of JTV) for 8th – 12th grade students.

Youth group is designed to help participants develop positive feelings about the synagogue and encourage active participation in Jewish life after becoming a Bar & Bat Mitzvah. Each youth program has its own calendar comprised of events held at Temple Beth Torah in our newly renovated Jeffrey Zukerman Youth Lounge and trips both in our local community and away. Youth group events consist of tzedakah / community service, worship, educational and social events which help to promote and strengthening Jewish ties and friendships. In addition Mission: Mitzvah was designed to provide a safe place for students to talk about important issues, explore leadership potential and develop a strong Jewish identity. In addition, TEMBTY has created: TEMBTY's College Connection Program which reaches out to graduates from Temple Beth Torah and encourages the continuation of their involvement in our Jewish community. Youth group is a place to have fun, be comfortable and make new friends.

Earn COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
FOR YOUR HIGH SCHOOL RESUME

Available To All High School Age Students Of Our Temple

As you may be aware, today's colleges are looking for well-rounded students who have more than good grades. Involvement in community service is now a prerequisite for many schools. In addition, for those students in National Honor Society, community service hours are a necessary component to be fulfilled.

All high school age students of our Temple, including those not enrolled in the Community Hebrew High program, are welcome to participate in this exciting program. We have approximately one mitzvah day project per month. The time commitment of each project ranges from one to three hours. Your child can attend as many or as few events as s/he has time for. For all events, we will meet at the Temple unless otherwise noted.

In addition, students can earn hours by helping to chaperone our TEMBTY, 3rd -8th grade youth group events. We even offer opportunities for helping out in the Temple office.

If you are in High School, a member of TBT and are interested in MIssion Mitzvah please contact Jodi Mishkin at 631-643-1200 to be added to the list.
