Ella Mandell is an incoming fourth grader at Sunquam Elementary School. She is involved in so many mitzvah projects that it’s hard to count them all! While watching a YouTube video, Ella learned that she could donate her hair to Locks of Love and Pantene for children who lost their own due to health reasons.
Her hair was used to make wigs for the children. Ella has donated her hair twice in the past three years. Through Temple Beth Torah (TBT), she has participated in organizing food at the Mercy Inn. Through the Mid Island Y JCC (MIYJCC), she was part of the Day of Giving/Martin Luther King day. At MIYJCC, she also helped put together goodies for the Birthday Wishes Organization who provide birthday parties to homeless children. Ella has also cooked and delivered food for the homebound through MIYJCC. Her favorite Mitzvah Project was to bake cookies and brownies for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. In her spare time, Ella plays basketball and attends TBT Hebrew School. We look forward to seeing your future mitzvah accomplishments, Ella! Congratulations and thank you!
